The LEVELS ARG School is a hub for introducing people to ARGs and to teach the community new techniques for ARG-solving, as well as offering puzzles ranging from beginner to absurdly difficult for all levels (pun intended) of players. It recognizes itself as an "ARG school," a title that seems to describe it perfectly. Users register with a username and password and are given access to the hub of LEVELS.

Please note that we will not have a channel for this ARG/Puzzle on our discord server, and will not be investigating it.
'''LEVELS''' was an ARG centered around the [http://levels.your-host.xyz the mysterious LEVELS website]. Little was discovered about it, but the site was initially intended to have seven "trials", each of which would grant an appropriate level of access on the LEVELS website.

Once registered, the players were met with challenges to complete/solve.  The puppetmaster made it clear that these challenges were intended to be completed individually, to broaden individuals' own skills and knowledge.  Participants were supposed to complete the registration on their own (to test their skills and abilities), but information sharing for the further challenges is advised.

The LEVELS website went through several iterations, and, most recently, it has become a forum where users can share puzzles and collaborate on challenges. (Link: https://levels.your-host.xyz/) However, discussion of LEVELS on the Game Detectives Discord server decreased significantly after the website became a forum, and investigation of LEVELS has since been closed.

=Registration=

The website was supposed to provide challenges to registered users; however, the registration itself was a puzzle.  There were intended to be seven different opportunities for registration, each one with a countdown until its end.  Each consecutive level was supposed to be easier to complete, but each one granting the registrant a lower "level" out of 7.

There were supposed to be seven levels of registration - however, the site ran into unforeseen complications, and the registration process had to be cut short after the puzzle for Level 4 was released.  Levels has since moved to a [http://levels.boards.net/ forum].

Solutions to puzzles will not be documented without the puppetmasters' permission.

==Level 7==

As of the moment of discovery, the website was in registration for the Level 7 stage. It had server outage later and the closing of this registration was postponed to 2016-10-09T09:00 UTC.

===Solution===

The source for the homepage showed that the background of the page was actually made up of an image, [http://levels.your-host.xyz/wp-content/themes/levels/images/level07.png level07.png]. Hidden within this image was a message:

[[File:level07 message.png]]

For those ready to OPEN the gate to the path of justice, its lady holds the key...

This hint <code>path of justice</code> lead to the [http://levels.your-host.xyz/justice registration page], which is no longer available. This required a registration code, which was hidden in the image through steganography.

Some users noticed that <code>OPEN</code> was in a larger font size than the rest of the text, while others simply recognised the dots in the image; either way, they were lead to [http://www.openstego.com/ OpenStego] as the software used to conceal a file in the image.

A password was required to unlock the file. This password was <code>scales</code>, which is what [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lady_Justice Lady Justice] literally holds. After using this password, contained within the image was the file <code>scales.txt</code>:

Registration Code: du@w3stu#2Bu

This registration code, along with a large amount of personal information, could then be used to register for Level 7.

Discord Levels ARG School

The LEVELS ARG School is a hub for introducing people to ARGs and to teach the community new techniques for ARG-solving, as well as offering puzzles ranging from beginner to absurdly difficult for all levels (pun intended) of players. It recognizes itself as an "ARG school," a title that seems to describe it perfectly. Users register with a username and password and are given access to the hub of LEVELS. Please note that we will not have a channel for this ARG/Puzzle on our discord server, and will not be investigating it.

The Beginning

After registering for the puzzle, users are given a page welcoming them to the LEVELS challenge. 36a094796b.png

NOTE: the username displayed on the right will be your own personal username and will have no points to begin. The image displayed is of the author's LEVELS welcoming page.

The main sidebar contains 5 useful links- The Game Room, The Hallway, Discussion Forum, Contact Us, and FAQ.

Astute users will notice the hole on the bottom right of the page. Clicking it leads to a series of dialogue from Lewis Carrol's Alice in Wonderland accompanied by an animation that leads you to the hallway.

The Game Room

The Game Room is a good place for newer players to start. It has an ever-increasing number of cards to be clicked, each with their own puzzle. These puzzles tend to be simpler and are very useful for learning and practicing basic techniques.

The Hallway

The Hallway is a puzzle hub for intermediate solvers. It consists of an ever-increasing number of doors that can be clicked on. Behind each door is a puzzle. These puzzles tend to use more advanced techniques ad require more thought and effort than the puzzles of The Game Room.

Discussion Forum

The Discussion Forum is the heart of the LEVELS community. It is a place for users to communicate, get hints for puzzles, and discuss LEVELS. It is of note that a separate ProBoards account is needed- however, this account is free and requires very little to set up. Anyone willing to spend more than a few minutes with LEVELS is encouraged to create an account.
